All the days of my hard service
I will wait for my renewal to come. (Job 14:14)
Do you think that I will be able to do the things that you have called me to do? Can’t you see that time is running out for me, Lord? I feel like I don’t even have time to do the things that I wanted to do in life. But you made time so you already know that. Lift me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; Set my feet on a rock, and give me a firm place to stand. I don’t want to step out of your covering. I know that I could…. But what good would that do? I’ve waited this long, why mess it up now. I know that you will come to get me. That’s the only hope that I have now. If you have sustained me this far, then why would you leave me here to die? I want to wait for you Lord; I want to be strong and take heart and wait for you.
Must I wait, now that they are silent,
now that they stand there with no reply? (Job 32:16)
“LORD, who may dwell in your sanctuary?
Who may live on your holy hill? He whose walk is blameless
and who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from his heart
and has no slander on his tongue, who does his neighbor no wrong
and casts no slur on his fellowman.”
( Ps. 15:1-3
